49ers lose consecutive games after surprise defeat to the Vikings

The San Francisco 49ers slipped to their second straight defeat of the season on Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings, and linebacker Fred Warner admitted: “we’ve got to find ways to win the grimy games”.

The 49ers have not suffered back-to-back defeats for 12 months, and Warner says they need to learn to dig deep when games are tight.

He said: “I think the thing right now is we’ve got to find ways to win the grimy games, the ones where it’s not looking great, and find a way.

“Obviously, we can win 30-10, but who are we, and what are we going to do when we’re down and we’ve got to come back and win a game?”

Despite multiple opportunities for the Niners to put themselves in a position to secure win number six of the season, the Vikings were too good on the night.

Defensive end Nick Bosa also spoke post-match and said: “The NFL will humble you every step of the way.

“Getting off to a 5-0 start, you kind of get that confidence that we are who we need to be, but the NFL does that.

“Good players, good schemes, and we’re going to face another good team this week, so we’ve got to be ready.”
