The Philadelphia Eagles will be without star wide receiver A.J. Brown when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Monday’s wild-card game, according to a report from ESPN.
Brown exited Philadelphia’s regular-season-ending 27-10 loss to the New York Giants with a sprained knee last week, having stayed down after fumbling on a nine-yard gain in the second quarter.
While initial reports regarding Brown’s condition were positive, the 26-year-old was unable to practice on Thursday or Friday as the Eagles prepared for their trip to Florida.

On Saturday, ESPN reported that Brown had failed to make enough progress to be considered for the Eagles’ first playoff game, though it is thought he will be available for the divisional round if they advance.
Brown’s absence will come as a major blow for last season’s NFC champions. His 1,456 yards on 106 receptions make him Philadelphia’s top receiver this campaign, while he also has seven touchdowns.
There is more positive news for the Eagles concerning the condition of quarterback Jalen Hurts, who returned to full practice on Friday after dislocating a finger on his throwing hand against the Giants.
Hurts was a limited participant in practice on Thursday, when he revealed the injury had left him unable to throw the ball for four days, though he now appears likely to lead his team into their first postseason contest.
