The USA can win the 2024 Copa America, winger Giovanni Reyna has said after Gregg Berhalter’s side continued their domination of the Concacaf Nations League by beating Mexico 2-0 to lift the trophy for the third time in three editions of the tournament.
Reyna scored the USMNT’s second goal at the AT&T Stadium in Texas, where they will return to meet Bolivia in their Copa America opener on June 23 before proceeding to group-stage fixtures against Panama and Uruguay.
“Winning titles with your country never gets old,” Reyna told CBS Sports. “We’ve been together with our core group for a while now and we know what it takes to win big games and tournaments.
“It’s good for momentum. Hopefully we can carry that into the Copa America, have a great run there and maybe even win the trophy.”

The USA repeated their 1995 performance by finishing fourth in their last Copa America campaign in 2016, but their other two appearances, in 1993 and 2007, were winless group-stage exits.
They could meet five-time winners Brazil or 2001 champions Colombia in the quarter-finals, with holders Argentina potentially awaiting beyond that stage.
Uruguay won the tournament in 2011 and are the only team in the USA’s group who are above them in Fifa’s rankings, standing four places higher in 11th.

Tyler Adams goal vs Mexico: ‘Love’ from Reyna
Mexico are 13th but had no answer to a spectacular long-range opener in the Nations League by Bournemouth wideman Tyler Adams shortly before half-time.
“I love him to death,” said Reyna. “I’m just so happy for him. He’s a great guy and so important for the team and group as a leader. Hopefully we can continue our relationship on and off the pitch for the next 10 years.
“I’m proud of the guys and how we fought through adversity. The energy we have is amazing – I really love coming to camp. It’s an honour to play with these guys.”
Reyna extended his Borussia Dortmund contract in January before being loaned to Premier League club Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season.
Forest will start their game at home to Crystal Palace on Saturaday in the relegation zone as the result of being deducted four points after being found guilty of breaching financial rules.
