Kansas City Chiefs star Rashee Rice has turned himself in to police after he and another driver allegedly caused a high-speed crash involving six vehicles on a highway last month.
A warrant for Rice’s arrest was issued on Wednesday as police said two cars – a Lamborghini and a Corvette – caused a “chain-reaction collision” on a Dallas highway.
The wide receiver – who played a key role in the Chiefs’ triumphant run to Super Bowl LVIII – faces eight felony charges carrying potential penalties amounting to years in prison.

Widespread reports said Rice handed himself in at Glenn Heights Police Department on Thursday, being booked into the regional jail in DeSoto before he was released on bond.
Police say SMU Mustangs receiver Teddy Knox was driving the other vehicle, with he and Rice allegedly fleeing the scene of the crash without checking whether anyone involved required medical attention or providing their details.
Four people involved in the pile-up sustained minor injuries.
Six of the charges faced by Rice are counts of collision involving bodily injury, which can carry prison sentences of up to five years, while he is also accused of one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
The final charge faced by Rice, that of aggravated assault, can bring a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
Rice took “full responsibility” for the crash in a statement posted to social media on April 3, after dashcam footage obtained by another motorist was widely shared on social media.
