LeBron not seeking trade from Lakers – agent

LeBron James’ agent says the Lakers superstar has no intention of leaving Los Angeles before next week’s trade deadline.

The 39-year-old, who averages 24.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season, sparked rumours he may be looking to move teams by putting an hourglass emoji on his X, formerly Twitter, account this week.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat small forward is currently sidelined due to an ankle injury, meaning he has yet to be quizzed as to what the emoji signified.

His agent Rich Paul told ESPN a trade is not on the agenda, however. Paul said: “LeBron won’t be traded, and we aren’t asking to be.”

The Lakers have had a disappointing season and sit ninth in the Western Conference with a 25-25 record. James has a player option for next season which needs to be exercised by June 29.

He joined the Lakers in 2018 and led them to the NBA Championship in 2020.
