Taylor Swift donates to family of woman killed at Chiefs parade

Taylor Swift has donated $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed during a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory parade after Super Bowl LVIII earlier this week.

Twenty-one people were injured when shots were fired at the end of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday, as an estimated one million people celebrated the team’s third championship in five years.

More than half of those injured were under the age of 16, and 43-year-old local radio DJ Lopez-Galvan, who was reportedly attending the parade with her husband and son, was killed.

Police have since released one man who was taken into custody, while confirming two juveniles remain detained as they continue their investigation into the shooting.

A GoFundMe page was set up to raise funds for the family of Lopez-Galvan, and two $50,000 donations under Swift’s name appeared on Friday.

Swift’s representatives subsequently confirmed the donations to The Associated Press.

The pop superstar’s relationship with the Chiefs’ star tight end Travis Kelce was one of the stories of the NFL season. She is currently on tour in Australia, while Kelce was not at Wednesday’s parade.
